The Watercolors of Fall

Hello everyone!  I am still loving these leaves!!  The trees all around are starting to change and the weather this past week has been so perfect.  I just can't seem to put this set back on the shelf.

I started by making stencils with the Leaflet Framelit Dies.

Next I used sponge daubers to add ink in a few colors.  I used Tangelo Twist, Delightful Dijon, Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler.  I used watercolor paper.

Here is is with the sponging.

Next I used my Aqua Painter to go over the sponged areas.  With the yellows and oranges I went pretty quickly but on the red and green leaves you have to go color by color or you will get a yucky brown mess.  I first did the green, then cleaned the brush and did the red, then just lightly blended the middle where they met.

Here is the finished piece.  So pretty!!

I made a few with just maple leaves, as those are my favorites, and a few with tight arrangements and loose arrangements.

I then added some of the stamped images from the Lighthearted Leaves in Basic Black.

I did one version with the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set and the other with the Vintage leaves stamp set.  I can't decide which I like better.  You?

I let the watercolor show more on these two.

I made a watercolor tag that I think turned out really fun.

This sentiment tag was made from the stamp set that came with this months My Paper Pumpkin.

Well, thanks for stopping by! I hope you get a chance to get outside this week and check out some pretty fall colors!

Falling Leaves

Hello everyone!  Have you noticed some of the leaves changing color? I saw a really pretty orange tree just yesterday!  Love it!  And I love leaf stamps and fall colors so this card makes me happy.
I used Tangerine Tango and Delightful Dijon on this card, as well as touches of black on a vanilla base.

I started by making a stencil out of a piece of acetate and the leaflet dies.  I then used sponge daubers to color in my stencil image.

I added the black leaves on top of the sponged leaves.  I also added a bit of black around the edges of the sentiment piece.

To get the extra Tangerine Tango mat, I simply punched out an extra tag piece and cut it in half to make it appear longer, and glued the pieces on the back.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have!

Lighthearted Leaves

Hello everyone!  Today I am sharing a project with the new Lighthearted Leaves set.  I really love leaf sets and when the new Annual catalog came out, one of the first bundles I bought was the Vintage Leaves set with the coordinating Leaflets framelit dies.  When I saw the new Lighthearted Leaves set in the Holiday catalog I was so happy that it also works with Leaflets framelits.  Yea!!
I started by sponging Cajun Craze onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  I then stamped the taller leave in Cajun Craze, and another leaf bunch in Old Olive.  It looks messy but it will be covered up so its OK.
I layered the main image onto a Cajun Craze card base and a piece of Designer Series from the Bohemian collection.
I stamped the maple leaf in Hello Honey and rolled the edges in Cajun Craze to get a two-toned effect on the leaf.  The smaller leaf was stamped in Hello Honey ink onto Hello Honey cardstock.  The So Grateful For You was stamped in Cajun Craze ink onto Cajun Craze cardstock.

To distress the burlap I cut a small strip.

Next I cut off the side binding.

Then I took away a few strands at all four sides of the ribbon to get the frayed edge.

Next I crumbled the ribbon into a ball.

And now you have a fun piece of distressed burlap. I adhered it to the card front with a piece of the new Tear Tape, which I love.
